Halloween comes waaaaaay early this year (May 1-3) at Texas Frightmare Weekend, a horror convention that brings together freaks of every stripe to slasher screenings, celebrity appearances and other such spookiness.
Shock rocker Alice Cooper, Fairuza Balk (the girl with the possessed eyes from The Craft) and Derek Mears (Jason in the most recent remake of Friday the 13th) are among those scheduled to appear. But I was happy to hear of a planned appearance by Emily Hagins, the 12-year-old at the center of the documentary Zombie Girl: The Movie, which played to fascinated audiences at the AFI Dallas International Film Festival.
She's now 16 and onto her second film, a ghost story called The Retelling. The Austin teen will be screening the flick at the convention. Check back here for more details and for more info on Frightmare.
