The concert and party celebrating Carter Albrecht and his solo album will take place on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Granada Theater.
Carter, who died September 3, 2007, was a guitarist and keyboardist best known for his work with the Dallas rock band Sorta as well as with Edie Brickell & New Bohemians. At the time of his death, he was working on his album.
The evening's events will be hosted by Dave Little, and will feature performances of Carter's music by John Dufhilo,& Don Cento, Sarah Jaffe, Trey Johnson, Salim Nourallah, Jayson Bales, Chris Holt, Danny Balis, Ward Williams and the Slack and Shibboleth as backup band.
Close friends and former Sorta band members, Danny Balis and Trey Johnson will kick off the evening with solo performances at 8:20 p.m. and 9 p.m., respectively. Performances of Carter's music will begin at 10 p.m.
