Welcome to the neighborhood

081105 11 X 17 Revised Bailey's Bar Lounge 01 - 1.0.jpg

Coming soon to Park Lane is Bailey's Prime Plus, a steakhouse whose new site will be its second location in the area. But I'm not so much excited about the cuisine as I am the cocktails ...

The restaurant will feature a cozy, red-accented bar/lounge "with curved banquette seating and subdued lighting, with space for live music performers ... or a DJ spinning." In fact, the lounge plans to have two rotating house DJs. And a mixologist and sommelier will be on-site, so I expect fantastic bevs of the vino and spirit variety. For now, the cocktail menu includes a peach rickey, strawberry basil mojito and a Coco Chanel -- vanilla vodka, white Godiva, coco real and Hershey's syrup. I have to see if it tastes as ooh-la-la as it sounds.

The cherry on top of the sundae of this news is that the new bar will be right smack in my neighborhood -- at last, we'll have a bar to chill at other than Sherlock's! Nothing wrong with Sherlock's, but it'll be nice to have some variety ...

Day Tripper: Best events for Tuesday, Aug. 4

New CDs in stores today: Leading this week's releases is Dallas rapper (and recent Quick cover man) Dorrough and his debut album Dorrough Music. He has two hits under his belt already, "Ice Cream Paint Job" and "Walk That Walk." Also out today: Modest Mouse's EP One's First, and You're Next, Tantric's Mind Control, K'Jon's I Get Around. New DVDs: Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr. in The Soloist, Beyonce's thriller Obsessed.

Adam Duritz and Counting Crows return, but the scheduled opening act, Michael Franti and Spearhead, had to drop off the bill. Franti has a ruptured appendix (ouch). 8 p.m. Nokia Theatre, 1001 Performance Place, Grand Prairie. $42.50-$65. 1-800-745-3000 or ticketmaster.com.

Glasvegas, a Scottish alt-rock band from Glasgow, has a U2/Coldplay sound and feel, and the comparison isn't entirely unfair since they all have standout lead vocalists, lyrical depth and widespread appeal. But Glasvegas has its own edge that makes them a must-see. 8:30 p.m. The Loft, 1135 S. Lamar St. $16. 1-800-745-3000 or ticketmaster.com.

Disqo Disco at Fallout Lounge, hosted by Sydney Confirm DJs. 835 Exposition Drive. 10 p.m. myspace.com/disqodisco.

'90s Night with DJs Yeahdef and Bangs at Hailey's, 122 Mulberry St., Denton. Doors at 10 p.m. No cover ($5 if under 21). haileysclub.com.

Kickback Tuesdays at The Lounge on Elm St. Music by Big Daddie the DJ. No cover before 10 p.m. Doors open at 7. 2810 Elm St. $10. 214-418-1511. myspace.com/kickbacktuesdays.
