Delicious thoughts: Along with escargots, duck confit is one of my all-time favorite French dishes. I suppose you kinda can't go wrong with an already flavorful, tender bird being roasted in its own fat. Although I enjoyed this entree, with herbed polenta, at a recent wine-pairing dinner, the duck confit is a permanent fixture on Toulouse's menu.
After dinner there, you may want to order a dessert that's not only good to your tastebuds, but good to the community. Through Nov. 1, all of the Lombardi restaurants -- Toulouse, Taverna Pizzeria Dallas, Ristorante Cibus/NorthPark, Penne Pomodoro/Snider Plaza and Penne Pomodoro Lakewood -- will offer a dark chocolate mousse dessert for $7, the proceeds of which will benefit America SCORES. Through sports activities and creative pursuits, the organization inspires youths in urban communities to lead healthy lifestyles.
