Puscifer is the brainchild of Maynard James Keenan (Tool and A Perfect Circle). On the band's MySpace page, Keenan calls the project the "island of misfit ideas" that didn't fit with his other bands, aiming for music that's like a "smooth but firm hot-buttered pelvic massage."
