What: Spanakopita

Where: Sangria, 4524 Cole Ave.

Delicious thoughts: New chef Jeff Moschetti has brought new influences to the menu at the formerly Spanish tapas-centric Sangria. Now, the offerings reflect influences from Greece (saganaki), Syria (a salad starring mint, lemon and halloumi) and Morocco (chicken tagines).

The classic Greek dish spanakopita is fabulously prepared, arriving full of warm spinach and feta cheese surrounded by flaky phyllo dough. Mmmm. I haven't tasted a spanakopita that authentically delicious since dining in Detroit's Greektown neighborhood years ago. I'll be sure to return to enjoy it, along with the restaurant's fizzy sparkling sangria.
